I didn't take any pictures today so this is a filler from a few weeks ago. I spent almost three hours in the dentist's chair this morning, having the groundwork done for three new crowns - it's such a major rebuild, I wondered whether we ought to have applied for planning permission and done an archeological survey first!
After that I didn't feel like doing much, so only the most critical item at the very top of my to-do list got ticked off - going to the feed stores to pick up some sacks of layers' pellets for the hens - the poor girls were on the verge of revolt as their feeder was empty (thanks in part to mummy rat and her eight little baby rats, spotted skipping merrily across the hen run yesterday). Hence I felt this picture of the flock warming their tail feathers in a rare burst of winter sunshine was a fitting filler for the day.
Three Good Things
1. Even marathon visits to the dentist don't last for ever!
2. I hatched several devious plot twists while the tooth stuff was going on.
2. That Friday feeling! A glass of wine at the village pub, a catch-up with friends, and don't have to get up early in the morning!
Love those sun rays on the chickens, lucky girls. Thinking of plots while in the dentist chair is a new one on me but excellent use of your time plus a distraction!!
Urgh, 3 hours at the dentist, that must've been some challenge, well done for even turning up!! These hens look nice and well fed despite the rat family!!
