Day Two in Valetta and we took the ferry across the harbour to the Second World War Museum (as our resident historian, Ed enjoyed the armoury yesterday but felt he needed more modern history and more detailed information). The museum earned the official Ed Award of Approval - it was fascinating and informative and told the story of Malta's role in the war - which resulted in the entire island being awarded the George Cross. This photo was taken on the way to the ferry, in the small garden high up on the fortified wall. A new hi-tech glass lift takes you down to the harbour. In the afternoon we continued our history quest and visited the Archaeology Museum - using the free tickets that came with the discount card which we'd purchased at the armoury and which caused huge confusion wherever we tried to use it.
