A quarter inch of ice and a half inch of snow (the first we've gotten this season) has extended our 4-day weekend to a 5-day weekend. Welcome to the South, y'all! My sons would say today's f-word are fun and frozen, but I have a different word in mind! LOL!
We were once in Atlanta with the high school debate team when an ice storm hit. The kids LOVED it. I was afraid they'd crack their heads open. It was an experience.
@danette This was just a little ice. We had a really bad ice storm when we lived in IL. The top of my tree in my front yard was bent over touching the ground because we had about an inch of ice. Electricity was off 36 hours at our house, and the temperature was around 10 degrees. Some places in Missouri were without electricity for 2 weeks. It was crazy. I couldn't even convince my boys to go out and play in the snow before it melted this morning. They said there wasn't enough snow to play in! LOL!
@bill_fe No, and it melted quickly, just leaving the ice. Most stuff closed again tomorrow. @olivetreeann I know, but they've been complaining that there has been no snow, I thought they'd want to play in it before it melted. LOL! @sbolden My boys would have been much happier with 5 inches of snow! LOL! @randystreat Um,,, yes, that's the work I was going for! LOL! Fooey works!
@lynnz@paulam@mittens Thanks! @joansmor Oh, Joan, things are closed for a second day. It's crazy! LOL! Our pastor joked Sunday that we were going to get our annual day and a half of winter weather! @juliac I could definitely do without the ice. At least our ice wasn't too thick and melts during the day.
