We went to see Jurassic World this evening. Just as the movie started getting exciting, they had to stop the movie and make everyone, 12 theaters full of people, go out into the halls because of a tornado warning. After about 15 minutes, the warning was cancelled, and they restarted the movies. But, the storm continued outside. Once the sound went out and another time the power blinked, so they restarted the movie again. When it was finally over, the little creek by the bike path was nearly up to the bridge. Last week, it was almost dry. Crazy night, but the movie was good. UPDATE: A weak tornado passed over this shopping center behind this creek and dissipated as it passed over us in the movie theater. It actually touched down near the Dairy Queen, but it didn't cause any damage, not even wind damage. Very weird.
Wow- that is a lot of rain! But I've seen the Bushkill at the bottom of my mountain do the same thing. Glad you finally got to see the movie all the way through!
@fearinnocent OK, that will be a great challenge (and one that requires my real camera and not my cell phone! LOL!) @yaorenliu Absolutely! LOL! @flowerfairyann Actually, tornado warnings are normal spring weather to us, as we lived in the mid-West for almost 18 years. This one was the first one we've had since moving east. @mittens@taffy@danette@olivetreeann It only rained for about an hour at most. The sun was shining when we went into the movie.
@randystreat The ground was so dry, it's all soaked in now. This one came with a tornado. It didn't do any damage, not even wind damage when it touched down. I found a picture on FB of the tornado passing over the shopping center behind this creek and heading toward our movie theater.
