Wet Leaves by if1

Wet Leaves

266 - It's not only the leaves which are wet. Two nights of heavy rain, and more rain through the day today means many local gardens are waterlogged, the river is rising and a few streets are seeing flood water begin to appear.

I was reluctant to go out very far in such poor conditions, so this shot was taken from my front door, looking at the border beside the lawn. Not the most exciting shot I've taken, but I hope it conveys the unpleasant conditions.
Beautiful pov and shot! Muddy and wet fall leaves are a nice contrast to the lovely bright green grass! Really like this photo! :)

ground is saturated, nice representation of that.

Could be our garden last days. Wonderful capture of autumn

You've captured the conditions perfectly. It is difficult to be motivated when the weather is like that. Not much sunshine this side of the world either.

Autumn isn't all crisp bright leaves - nice capture of the other side.

Beautiful find and capture Ian, hopefully it won't too much this time!

Reflects the season really well....including where I live. Time to break out the garden rake!

WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF TAKING THIS PICTURE BEFORE 365? Very nice (forgot cap lock was on)!
November 27th, 2012
Hope the weather improves for you Ian! Wonderful shot.
November 27th, 2012
It' s been horrific hasn't it? So you've had flooding in your area too...

@paintdipper

Thank you Junan, I thought this was a nice contrast to the earlier crisp clean leaves!

@doodlerdeb

Thank you Debra - we had a small moat at the front of the house when we woke up in the morning as well!

@pyrrhula

Thank you Pyrrhula, there seems to be water everywhere. Much of the farmland around York is waterlogged as well.

@tonydebont

Thank you Tony - it's supposed to be drier (and colder) later in the week.
November 27th, 2012
@ladyjane

Thank you Ladyjane - I thought this would make quite a contrast with the earlier crisp clean dry leaves!

@adifferenteye

Thank you Dar - I liked the idea of a slightly negative autumn shot!

@tanja_1211

Thank you Tanja, the worst of the rain is over, but it will be floods next!

@brianl

Thank you Brian, it reflects the season and the recent heavy rain! - much more rain and there won't be need for the garden rake, they will just be washed away!

@gnilrets

Thank you Stirling - you're quite right, we're all encouraged to try something new on this project. It really is good for us, and it's great to learn from each other!

@marieooi

Thank you Marie, drier and colder weather promised for later in the week, but before then floods! We are fortunately relatively safe from that where we live.

@will_wooderson

Thank you William - the river is rising as I write and is expected to peak overnight, so this will be the third set of floods in York this year (and all faithfully recorded on 365!)
November 27th, 2012
oh yes, we can tell you were getting some serious rain. They are soaking wet!! it is a good capture.
November 27th, 2012
@if1 I agree Ian, I look at it as a time to rest and renew.. nothing negative to me at all. beauty in change..
November 27th, 2012
@kdimagery

Thank you Kd - it has rained a lot, but we are promised it will be dry for the rest of the week!

@roslynjoy

Thank you Roslyn - but I find it sad to see lovely crisp leaves being reduced to pulp.
