333 - From the walkway around the walls of Clifford’s Tower (see yesterday’s shot), there is a fascinating panorama, with numerous fascinating views.
I chose this view looking towards York Minster because it is a good vantage point to see clearly the massive size of that building. It also has two other churches visible. The spire belongs to St Mary’s Church, now used as a contemporary art space. The lantern tower belongs to All Saints Church, Pavement which is still an active Christian community.
Other rooftops cover a long period of history and a wide variety of styles. In many ways it is this variety of ages and styles of building that give York much of it’s character
Thank you all for your kind words - I'm a bit spoiled though with a model as beautiful as York to photograph!
Malc - yes, M&S does have a great view of the Minster too - JulieCo had a shot from there in her project - http://365project.org/julieco/365/2012-11-09
Tony - when you get here, let me know, I promise you the full tour!
It's important that we have our dreams!
Thank you Kd - it's a while since I was last here, so I took a whole series of shots over the city.
