Yummy!
No, not really. At the moment it is about 95F/35C outside and inside I keep it around 80F/27C. Really nice weather to eat ice cream, but a little too hot to photograph it.
On internet you can find many recipes to make "photographic ice cream". In the end I decided just mix cornstarch and conditioner (for your hair). This because you I had both ready and in order to get the right kind of "dough" you add just a little more of either one.
It looked pretty good the only issue was that the sprinkles would not stick.
So after a few "bare" pictures (this is one of them) I added chocolate and strawberry sauce. That got a bit messy, but gave still fun pictures. One is used as a filler: http://365project.org/ingrid01/365/2017-06-17
This looks so much like real ice cream that it fooled me. But then, I do understand why you did this. It does give you more time to get the right photograph.
Well done!
@farmreporter - yes it did give me a lot more time to take the shot! I had a real ice cream afterwards and it started to melt when I started to scoop it. I'm not complaining, but Houston summers are pretty hot.
Well done!
After I tried it out myself, I really look different at ice cream shots: "is it real or is it not?!"
