Old Tunnel State Park by ingrid01

Old Tunnel State Park

Close to Fredericksburg is the smallest state park in Texas (16.1 acres)
It is a railroad tunnel which ceased operations in 1942 and was officially made a state park in 2012.

From May through October there are up to 3 million bats! Although we could smell them, we were just too late. It was November and after the first major cold front.

Looks interesting to explore. However I would not like to go in there because I have a folia against them.

@sangwann you are not allowed to go into the tunnel. There are viewing areas. The main reason is that they don't want people disturbing the wild life. On top of that it is smelly. They were gone for at least a week when we visited and I could clearly smell them.

A great shot of this old tunnel. And interesting info (I never thought about bats being smelly, but it makes sense.)
