How happy these lights make us! We talk about it often, and to think that they were just an afterthought. After thinking we were done decorating last year, the idea to light this pretty pondside tree popped into my head. We had the lights, so why not? Mike and I wound a few strands around and around while carefully avoiding the frigid water; and immediately, we smiled the first of countless smiles!
Something about this gumdrop-shaped Japanese Maple adorned with simple white lights delighted us; and we were back at the winding again this year. Mike uses a timer to keep these lights on late into the night. When we lower the bedroom shade to sleep, we gaze upon this sweet little gumdrop glowing in the moonlight and smile. Even under a blanket of snow, the lights delight; and isn’t that always the way? Yes, yes it is.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
