From this picture, you wouldn't know it: I have a habit. I have a habit of counting moments as gifts. "What a gift!," I often exclaim; and I've been known to keep a written record of these daily doses of grace. It all began back in 2013 after reading the eye-opening One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. Thousands of recorded gifts later, I'm still struck with awe every day by the gifts He so freely gives. Air in your lungs? A gift. New leaves glowing in sunshine? A gift. Cup of hot, fragrant peppermint tea? A gift from our good Father. I (we) viewed our first camping trip in The Dreamcatcher as a gift and said so repeatedly.
We felt His presence from day one, and then this happened on the last day: the four of us each picked a tile out of the Scrabble bag because the rules state that whoever picks the tile with the highest point value goes first. We each put down our tile on the table and, awestruck, saw a G, an I, an F and a T. No joke. And we don’t believe in coincidences.
Selah Moments: those times we lean into God's presence, hear His voice, and willingly receive the golden nuggets of truth-revelation He gifts us with.
