There is just no decent light for outdoor photography at the moment so here is a filler from last week.
Posting early because I have got a busy day and it is Angus' parents' evening this evening. He is currently three months into his first year of A'levels. He started subtly managing our expectations a couple of weeks ago, but if we were still in any doubt the report we received last weekend made it perfectly clear that we are unlikely to come out with a smile on our faces....... Can't wait!
I was thinking of letting Graham go on his own with Angus this time so I could go to the last art class of the year, but I have a feeling that it might be better for me to be on hand in case I need to employ my best peace-keeping/refereeing skills once it is over.....
Parents evening was not best looked forward to in our house...the eldest two were fine but the youngest had terrible comments, he would only do any work in the subjects he liked ....all said a lovely lad but.......Needn't have worries of course as he has found his own niche in life & a more knowledgeable lad about the earth & all sorts of obscure facts I have yet to meet!! I gave up worrying about lots of things then!
Little baskets of gold Jan!
Gorgeous shot of the changing seasons.
Oh, parent's evenings can be stressful, but, not to worry ... our kids always seem to make their own way in life. It may not be the way we would do it, but then, we can only love and support them for all that.
I am sure the teacher is going to have a lot of good things to say as well.
@happypat Thanks for your words of wisdom Pat. I know he will end up 'alright' and the teachers all love him. He just doesn't do much work and I hate to think that one day he will look back and regret it.
This is just superb, the light is wonderful. Yes I am struggling with the light too. Not happy with my shots of late! Hope you are pleasantly surprised tonight. Which A levels has he opted for?
A very simple but powerful image where the increasingly blurred background keeps pulling your eye back to the sharp heads in the foreground and the limited range of colours leads you to look for patterns.
Lovely light here. We are finding A levels are completely different to GCSEs and that looks like quite a difficult set of subjects he's chosen. Does he know what he wants to do after A levels?
Hope the parents' evening went better than expected! He's doing almost the same as youngest son, just swap the DT for chemistry. It's hard to know when they reach this age what they're getting up to when they hole up in their rooms to do homework. Anywho, back to the shot, beautifully done. Love the golden hues xx
Other than showjumping (obviously highly practical) she has no idea. I would suggest something high-earning in order to fund her Showjumping aspirations, as her father and I are unlikely to be able to provide her with the quality of horses she desires.
Meanwhile Edward would like to become a professional rugby player or a celebrity chef. It would be good if one of my children could come up with a slightly more achievable aspiration.
Gorgeous filler. Maybe they are just trying to shock them! We don't have a parents' eve till after Christmas - had not a bad report but various comments on a variation of 'Adam has a unique approach to lessons'. Hmmmm
