Fungi by jeneurell

Fungi

Fungi on the Woompoo Circuit walk at Mapleton. I have done the walk a number of times, but this is the first time I've seen fungi growing.
Beautiful capture and POV. They are "Golden Curtain Crust", or Sterium ostrea fungi. I have seen them in Vic. and Tasmania. Lovely to see them up in QLD.

@ethelperry Thanks Ethel. I have certainly seen them before - and further north in Qld too - but didn't know what they were called.

@hrs Thanks for reporting that find, Jenny. The ones I have seen in Far East Vic. Were in a small area of rainforest. These fungi may be more prevalent up north.
