The plovers are noisy birds and like to make a racket at night, but they do look quite striking. We have tank water so don't want them on our roof - at least these two have taken up residence a few minutes walk away, not like last years pair that decided our flat roof was the place to be. We hope that they stay there.
@jgpittenger I had to look 'snowy plovers' up to see what they were. We do have some smaller birds that are called Dotterals that are also known as plovers. The Snow Plovers and the Black-fronted Dotteral both belong to the Charadriidae family. The plover in my photo is also called a Masked Lapwing.
