One of the banksias on my walk at Kathleen McArthur reserve yesterday. The banksias were named after Sir Joseph Banks. Many names in Australia are being changed to indigeneous names - I wonder how long before someone decides botanist Banks didn't deserve a plant named after him. Hard to think of these being called anything else but a Banksia, and affectionately the Banksia Men.
