@opsadaisy challenged me to portray motion. So I set my camera on shutter repeat and got pictures of the flag unfurling in the wind this morning or was it yesterday? I am afraid I haven't done a great job with this challenge.
@vignouse Been busy making Tuscan pumpkin bean soup, whole wheat bread, Tarragon Shrimp Spread, and creating a scrappage, dealing with computer issues, laundry, etc - in other words a typical Sunday. Would have liked to spend more time so you maybe never would have guessed it was a composite. But I'm happy with it and happy with my food.
@joansmor Sorry Joan, doesn't say 'motion' for me - one flag, a slow shutter speed so that just the flag is blurred and the rest of the scene is sharp, perhaps?
@joansmor You definitely captured it in the movement of the flag. That's what to me makes it intriguing -- the same but not the same as you view from left to right.
@vignouse Tried that but I got a washed out picture. Like the low-key I need to keep experimenting until I get it. But since that flag is photographed from my window, I can experiment every windy day.
It may not be what you wanted to capture but I like the composite with the implied movement of the flag as one looks from left to right. Keep at it! Sounds like you had an incredibly productive day of cooking/baking!
@joansmor Yes, you would probably have needed to have used a ND filter to have reduced the shutter speed sufficiently to have captured motion blur in the flag. But this is an awesome shot Joan - this composite image is almost undetectable as such. For me though, it's a trompe l'oeuil image... and a very good one - and, to my mind, that's better than a motion blur image!
@perspectivesimages Oh I like it well enough. I just wanted to do a motion blur pictures. Like when I was trying to do low=key and my first efforts were low light. There is a difference.
@vignouse Richard my computer going in shop. Don't know how many days I will be off line. Just didn't want you to think I was offended. I knew you liked it just new you didn't think it represented motion. And I agree and respectfully disagree. Eye of the beholder. I will get to the motion thing. I have ordered some filters so we shall see what that will do.
