A coastal Maine village on a foggy morn -Iconic!

First I need to say I will get caught up on my commenting this weekend. Secondly this short was taken at Stonington. A little of the beaten path but the pictures on the trip down and back were fun to take. Another for my challenge.
@jackie365 my last entry for your challenge.

Another lovely black and white Joan. Your b/w's are so crystal clear, could pass for a slide. Beautiful.

Terrific in B&W

Initially I thought England but I can see the architecture of the houses is a bit different! Then it became a beautiful Maine picture!

Beautiful in B & W!

Just an invitation to take part in the F-word challenge. Any photo of something hanging from a chain or rope. There are so many things waiting to be photoghraphed. How about taking a photo of your favourite jewellery. A chain with a pendant or a light hanging on chains from the ceiling. Looking forward to see more photos in this challenge. For details see Discuss, themes...

@sdutoit don't own a lot of jewelry. But I will consider something else.

Great moody capture :)

@joansmor I must say this is my favorite of the two. If you were going for Ansel Adams I think you have it on this one. I love that there are so many tones and textures. I think the composition is really good. Challenge met!

Super shot.

Hi -- I too love the glassy look and also the "crystal clarity." You set me an interesting challenge that will take a little thought! Here's one for you: a picture that is deliberately out of focus. (If this does not appeal, let me know and I'll come up with another.)

@francoise I do this like Rachel Withey and it is fun. Haven't done one since last summer. Cool one for me. Also like the ones JDM does. My mind is flowing already.

Beautiful scene Joan, you always process your b&w's very nicely.

Oh, yes, that scream New England! Fabulous!

I'm surprised that there seem to be so many modern houses in what otherwise appears to be a rather old spot - you've created a timeless feel with this.
September 16th, 2015
@vignouse These are old structures for us. But the thing that changed in this area is it used to be a port for the stone quarry and became a fishing and tourist area (not a big tourist area though). So buildings are changing to fit the newer ways. BUt for us these look old - non-Indians settled in about 1760 - old in our ways - relatively young in your European thinking.
September 16th, 2015
@joansmor The houses looked much newer than that to me Joan... and I had thought that they were built of brick, but in view of the former use of the port, perhaps thay are small, regular stone blocks.
September 16th, 2015
@vignouse No stone wood shingles, you see a lot of that along the coast especially in the older buildings.
