Took my photos to the fair today. Can't wait to go see them when the judging is done. But mostly tired today because fledglings fry and well an old visitor returned. I sat in my recliner very early this morning and Two came running through the room and I hear a very familiar clicking sound. Yep another bat. Two caught it but she put it down and I thought I had it trapped in a net but it snuck away. Because I am a coward and was waiting for it to be late enough to ask my nephew to come get it. Now it is in the house and I won't sleep well tonight. Two has been on the prowl most of the day. If I don't post tomorrow it means I had a heart attack during the night. Hoping to get the vent cover fixed tomorrow.
So you get this picture I took of the reflection that looks about to slide over the dam.
Reflection on the edge by photographer on the edge! Sorry your prediction came true Joan as I know how much those critters spook you. Those bats sure don't waste any time.
Ugh
Not fond of them in the house at all. They used to hide behind my radiator in Boston and come out at inopportune times (and give me heart attacks). This is an uneasy picture...
Oh my - do post tomorrow and tell us either your nephew or Two took care of this miserable situation! I'm not sure I could stay in the house :) I know how you're feeling. Your photo says it well, too.
So sorry to hear your about your miserable situation. If it gives you any consolation, bats have excellent sonar abilities and will stay well away from you tonight. I am sure that it is as afraid of you as you are of it!
Be brave - the night will pass quickly enough and tomorrow your problem will be solved!
Oh, I feel for you. If ti were me, I'd have had to move out! I can't stand these critters as they are simply mice with wings -- and I cringe even writing that word! I hope your nephew is able to catch it and get it out! We once had one fly through our living room and I said something to Jim like, 'there's a bird in our house!' He looked at me, nodded, and said, something like, "yes, a bird, definitely. You take the dog for a walk and I'll catch it." He didn't tell me for months it was a bat until one day I started thinking a bird would have hit the walls! I had a delayed freak out. Good luck!!
@farmreporter Well that is not my experience because one time my cat was chasing one and it hoped up on the bed I was on so that is what gives me the willies. Anyway one problem down until another one gets in.
Oh- missed this "up-date" and read the outcome first. Although my brain knows their sonar will keep them from hitting me, the rest of me is scared of them too! We had one get in our former place- there was a large living room that had a 7 ft. fireplace and we think it came in from the chimney. It was flying around the room in circles and we were trying to knock it out of the air with a broom so Jeff could put it in a sheet and remove it. What laugh!!!! Since the reflection shot makes the world look upside down I think it sums up your day perfectly!
A stunningly saturated image.. love the reflection and the edge of the water as it tumbles over..
poor wee thing - both of you.. you're scared but so too is the bat.. it's already been in a girt big monster's mouth and now cannot get away.. it's going to die and that is truly sad.. :-(
