Can you see it. Sorry for the lousy picture but I took my prim thinking to get some goood landscapes. I was wallking behind Jane and notice a dark blob on the side of a tree. My mind said Not bear but as I stared it moved. Yes bear. I called to Jane to come back because I saw a "b-e-a-r.' If I yelled the word it would have been High pitched. Not brave! Say the bear was more afraid of me than I was . I would say not possible .
Oh my get pushed challenge was oppposites.
My boys have had a few bear encounters on hiking trips. They found it quite exciting, even when the bear broke into their bear bag and bit a hole in my son's toothpaste.
I'm not sure how you held the camera steady to take the shot - have had one close encounter - but it was before I got into photography - would have loved to have had a camera then! Glad the retreat was safe.
nup, all I can say is people say "oh how can you live with those deadly insects and snakes in Australia?" I say," I would rather outrun a spider than a bear any day, and even if it catches me, it won't rip me limb from limb!" Then I quietly say, but I'd love to 'see' a wild bear... well done getting this photo, and even more well done for living to upload it!
Quite an exciting walk. At least he was in the tree and not headed toward you. I saw a bear one time, but only managed to get a picture of part of his rear end as he scampered away.
Exciting walk, most times Black bears will leave us alone unless harassed or we get to close.Great story and wonderful fot you to be able to photograph both of them .
