I promised to take my gf Louise to Perkins Cove for Sunrise. THe weather was good this weekend so I texted her on Friday. SHe choose today and so I picked her up at 4a,m. The sunrise was beautiful but I have seen better but for Louise it was a thrill. She was disappointed when she tried taking a picture of the chairs like me and got silhouettes. She is in the Camera Club so I explained that silhouettes are wonderful. She looked at me skeptically so I will have to post this on my FB so she can see their value. We also discussed over saturating the photos. We experiences soft sunrise colors and not neon and she should try to keep them. SO I must be true to what I told her. I know have at least a weeks worth of photos. Phew!
This also picks up my chairs series from last year.
Bravo to you both! Whilst I'm an early bird...4am is not (yet) my favoured get up and about time. Too far south, relatively speaking, for such early light mornings.
Hi Joan - I didn't wonder if it was a composite - i was intrigued about the lack of colour between the slats of the chairs. maybe it's something to do with the low intensity of the light at that time of day?
I hope your friend now knows the value of silhouettes because you have given her a great example here. Sure makes me want to get up at 4 AM for a sunrise- well, maybe not- I'll find a beach and catch the sunset instead! fav
