After the Eagles

The geese who were making all the noise that made me walk towards the bald eagles. They live at the pond a good portion of the year since they also get feed by the locals.
Lovely capture, love the blurry trees!!

@joemuli Thank you, I was trying to track the group as they flew down towards the water. Got really lucky- need much more practice.

@s4sayer I am kindly grateful for the fav. The tracking of moving things is a challenge.

@francoise Thank you, the luck that I was given is huge. Tracking them as they flew, and they do move rather fast as they land. This was just a small squadron of them, the rest already at the pond enjoying the bread cubes that was on the menu.

great capture!
looks even better considering that you propably had to quickly adjust your framing in order to put the eagles within that natural frame :)

This is fantastic! What a great composition.

This is so beautiful! I love the movement in the trees, it really draws the eye to the geese. The stark blue sky against the birds is lovely. Def fav

What a fab shot, you caught this picture at just the right time, with the 3 geese up top and 3 underneath, fav.

@pasttheirprime Thank you so very much for the fav, I am honored.

@stephanies The geese were going down to grab some bread that was being scattered about and I got really really lucky. I do want to try more movement shots-maybe a mini theme for next year?

@megpicatilly THank you a great deal for the fav. The birds were moving so fast and lady luck was smiling.

@taffy Thank you very much, I might need to invest in a decent telephoto.

@gerry13 Thank you ever so much, I don't always luck out but did this time.

Great. We have had our fair share of eagles here in Narragansett Bay this year. If you get a chance google Butch Lombardi, a great wildlife photographer and good friend of mine. He was given an award from the Audobon Society for his study of the habits and death of an osprey chick. If you can find the article it is a good read. He also did a great article called "The Longest Flight" about his friend who was downed in a B17 in WW II, a photo essay about his first lift in a B17 since the downing. Joe passed and Butch was given an old folding camera that was Joe's and it had film in it. Butch asked me to help to develop it and inside were old family pictures.
