This is my parent's "Magic Hour Clock" from the 1950's. It sat on the shelf for years. It no longer works as well as it did, I plug it in and it hums and the hands turn but don't keep such great time. I do plan on trying to get it fixed.
Love the design of the clock and the atmospheric way you have captured it. And why bother getting it fixed. I'll bet it tells the right time at least twic a day. ;-)
getting it fixed was just what i had in mind since it's so old and so unique!
As a shot i like the background shadow and that the hour hand is blurry
Very nice
@annied Thank you very for the fav. these clocks were sold by the Phillips TV people in the 50 and 60's (I think) as a promo to make sure you watched TV. It was always on the shelf, just humming away. There are many different designs and I feel lucky that I got it after the splitting up of things from my parents.
@graemestevens Thank you, analog time pieces are so very interesting.
@eudora Thank you, I remember my Grandparents had one two but I believe they had the glass face design.
@mbrutus Thank yo so much, this clock has a special spot in my memories. I did find some a store in Scotsdale that sells parts. I will ask if they could look at it when I'm down there next month. I adore analog time.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you, it sits on my desk not plugged but I still won't get let go of it.
@pdulis Thank you, these clocks have such a classic design.
@overalvandaan Thank you, time should be simple, shouldn't it?
@gerry13 I used a lens baby since isn't working (well) I thought a blurred shot would be best. I intend to work on getting it fixed, it is a really simple design so it shouldn't be too tough.
@joysabin Good luck with the repairs. We have an anniversary clock that we bought on our honeymoon. I think it went years without working till we finally had it repaired.
What an interesting little clock, never seen one quite like that before. I recognise the maker Phillips though... we had a TV made by them I think if my memory serves me correctly....

@domenicododaro Thank you, I hadn't thought about that.

@deborah63 I like analog time since perfection is not something that I strive for. I know I'm a throwback but to quote Popeye "I yam what I yam":):)
