Courious Burros by joysabin

Courious Burros

Old film developed and was lucky. I believe this was taken in 1982 in the high California desert.

Kodacolor 400, standard C-41 process.
Did you only just process this from all that time ago? What a wonderful surprise if you did, it's a great shot. I love it, it made me smile. I wonder what they're thinking

Love it! Fav.

Glad that film developing worked out. Those burros have been waiting thirty five years for you to develop them.

@deborah63 It was an old roll and if I remember, those burros were rounded up because they were a nuisance for the pilots on the local air base. I think that the burros were 'put up' for adoption.

@gardenfolk Thank you so very much for the fav.

@mbrutus Burro patience, not bad. These were 'wild' burros and they were rounded up for adoption so that they wouldn't continue be a nuisance to the pilots at the local air base.

What a lovely photo - and from film!

Great photo.
Are you really saying that you have kept film undeveloped for 35 years!?

@megpicatilly Film will never die, it may be tough to find but I love the quality of the image-stick in the mud that I am.

@octogenarian Yes, but not on purpose. I bought a scanner last year and have been gathering my old negatives - I found a box of old junk and found a roll of film at the bottom of the box last year. I was afraid to take it to the local drugstore for developing so it sat again on my desk until I bought the c41 developing kit. I also hemmed and hawed about doing it and then found some tutorials on YouTube and found the courage.

@kali66 Literally, I found an old box junk and almost threw it out but Pack Rat that I am went digging and found the roll. Of course I hadn't found the courage to develop it until recently.

@domenicododaro I think Burros have a huge amount of character, they are such wonderfully tolerant of us humans.

@la_photographic Thank you, these are truly noble creatures.

very nice shot!

What a great shot, amazing how the clarity and the colours are still so good after so many years.

Man, that is so sweet!

@jerome Thank you very much, sorry about my long delay in responding back, May has been a rather crazy month.

@stephanies I am rather amazed too at the clarity. I just found out that I can use old lens on a new Sony A6000 mirrorless so when I save enough for it, I will use this lens.

@davidrobinson Thank you so much, the burros were very interested in me, I wonder if they thought I might let them out or had food?

Amazing it has lasted so well. I had just reconciled myself to getting a lab to process and scan all my film, b/w included... you put me to shame!
