Received a gift from my sister. She gifted me her Canon AE-1 Program. She included a 50mm 1.8 and a 70-200mm 3.5 telephoto lens.
She also let me have back the Sekonic light meter that my father had given me back in 1983. I admit to being intimidated by it back then so didn't make use of too much. I found a video on YouTube which explains how to use it and I kick myself for being 'putoff' by it for so long. Since I am going to be making a strong effort to shoot and process more film this coming year, this meter will come in handy. The 1st week of 2019's Dogwood challenge was to: "Take a picture that tells us who you are, without actually showing your face."
@samae I hope to take a film shot each day, I won't be able to post it right away but making the commitment to film is important to me.
@fbailey Thank you, great thing about old cameras, is that many lenses are not as expensive. I found a battery and now am off.
@jernst1779 Thank you, I also found several rolls of film some shot and some not.
@domenicododaro Now I need to shoot one roll and see how things work. I also will need to get it cleaned.
@tstb13 Thank you so much, I also enjoy your work a great deal, looking forward to many more in 2019
@haskar Thank you, old cameras are a lot heavier than I remember, :):)
@octogenarian Thank you so very kindly for the fav. I am happy that there is an increasing number of film devotees. I am finding many sites and posts about using old film. Its the adventure that intrigues me.
@eudora I am wanting to really get out there and shoot but the snow is here at present. Can you remember the shutter sound that your Dad's AE-1 made? This is is sorta of whoosh-click, is that normal?
