Flash of Red No 8

Our icicles seem puny when compared to the monstrous ones that Chicago and the Midwest had during the 'polar vortex'. Our temps have only been in the single digits (w/o wind chill). The temp when I took this yesterday had climbed to 19 which without wind was tolerable. even comfortable. (okay, I did have 3 layers on)
This is the garage, now the visitors center at Riordan Mansion in Flagstaff.

Hope all have a great weekend.
really super tones here, well done!

@lsquared Grateful, thank so kindly.

@ziggy77 Thank you so much. I Renee my gloves so I was good.

@kali66 Phoenix steals all the publicity and heat. They can keep the triple digits but we'll keep the clean air and snow.

Even better on black. We have less icicles since we cleaned out our gutters. They used to be a real hazard, forming just above our front stairs.

So many textures - those icicles look dangerous!

I really like your lensbaby shots! Great wintery photo.

I find these ones so big, dangerous

I absolutely love this! Just did my first shots today with my new lensbaby and will be needing lots of practice before I can get results like this.

Definitely must see on black-fav

Nice capture of the icicles. They looks pretty big to me.

They look like blooming big icicles to me!! Great on black.

Have only seen icicles like these in films etc. Spectacular for me, living in a more temperate climate.

Lovely lb shot. Great icicles.

@ihallmackenreuther Very appreciative of the fav, thank you kindly.

@haskar Thank you so much, very thankful for the fav.

@s4sayer These are mid-size, there was one that was about 3 feet long but thankfully not near any walkways. The temps at night have really created lots and lots of ice-much to my dismay.

@golftragic This year we haven't had too many around town- I'm just fine with that too.

@henrir Winter does mean ice but I really could skip them all together. The sun and the cold nights seem to be having a great time.

@samae Truly grateful for the fav, thank you very much.

@jernst1779 How wonderful, I am hoping you like it. The things that LB's let us see in a different way have helped my mojo. What lens did you get?

@tstb13 These are about 8-10 inches and well off the walkway and shouldn't be dangerous. I do like to see them but not deal with them.

@eudora Very grateful, thank you. I am glad that I can find these used, makes them affordable.

@fbailey I respect ice in all of its forms. I love to see them from a distance, though.

@gardencat We have heat tape that we have along the north facing roof edge so that helps. Before moving here I had never heard of such a cool thing. This building is historical and over 100 years old so they won't use new fangle things.

very cool looking icicles!

Those look lethal!

@blueberry1222 If only they could take out the crows but not really

@overalvandaan I am so sorry for the late response. This winter gave us some good snow and as well as a few 'extras'.
