A Cairn resting at the viewpoint near the Wawheap marina, Lake Powell Utah. The states of Arizona and Utah share Lake Powell. The borders of the lake meander through both state lines.
IIn the distance, the larger mountain is Navajo Mountain and the small flat top mesa to the right is Tower Butte with Lake Powell in the middle ground. This area of northern Arizona is simply gorgeous.
The popular instagram spot, Horseshoe Bend, is just a hop skip and jump south of Page. I just couldn't take a selfie like so many of the other tourists, sorry :):).
What a wonderful image - the shapes, shadows and structure of the Cairn just lead your eye into that wonderful background. The blue contrasting slash of lake makes you alternate between the two sections. I just love this - biggest ever Fav!
@angelikavr The cairn looked lonely just sitting there. This over look at Lake Powell let one really see how large the lake is. It is a man made lake but still very impressive.
@byrdlip My neighbors have a boat that they tow to Lake Powell often. I am very glad that I finally made the trip to see how gorgeous the area is.
@jernst1779 This section of Northern Arizona is both stark and just gorgeous. I am very glad that I got the chance to see it. Truly grateful for the fav.
@robz Truly very thankful for the fav. It was a gift to be able to see so much of this area. It has so much to offer. The winter is best since the temperature isn't over 100f. One can get lost in the quiet up there as well as have fun on a boat on the lake.
@onewing I am in awe of those who can get cairns to 'work'. It was just resting on a rock all my itself. I am glad to have seen it.
@golftragic Most grateful for the fav, thank you kindly. Some people has great patience and talent for these. I don't but that's okay. I'll just squat down and appreciate their artistry.
@domenicododaro Very grateful for the fav, thank you so much. This part of Northern Arizona is remote and mostly unspoiled. It was a very special time for my husband and I. There is so many things to do. Winter was the best time to go - not too hot.
@samae Thank you so kindly for the fav. It is a special area, not the average tourist things, easy to get away from the crowd.
@yaorenliu The weather was just perfect and not too hot or windy which was perfect for the balloon regatta.
@sdutoit Thank you you most kindly for the fav, very appreciated.
@gardenfolk, @haskar Most grateful for the favs, thank you so very much.
