Antique Photography Demo

Randall Tosh, an Oregon based photographer who works with the Collodion wet plate process, gave a demonstration of the process and even took a couple of portraits.

Here is a link to his work ( https://randall-tosh.squarespace.com/3wh2re78y5zzke33wlcnxlrlsl1pd2 ) and a link to explain more about the old process of collodion. ( https://expertphotography.com/wet-plate-photography/ )

The portrait was still in the clearing bath so there is a reflection from the trees.
How cool to see that demonstration.

These old methods seem to allow much less control than modern photography but they do have a charm, due maybe to the serendipitous nature of the process.

I really like old techniques. Unfortunately, they consume huge amounts of fresh water

Fascinating

@cdcook48 @gardencat @marlboromaam @haskar @jgpittenger Thank you so much. The alternative processes are not perfect by any means but it does scratch a creative itch for some to be able to 'get' an image using the old ways.
