Chuck the Truck, a loud and often painfully annoying toy someone gave my disinterested oldest son, was recently rediscovered by Diego, but had run out of juice. While the parents were thankful that this vociferous plaything had been silenced, the boy was disheartened. The result was me unscrewing the battery panel and replacing AAs. But while trying to figure out just where this panel was, Diego decided to assist me by taking matters into his own capable hands. I love the intensity of his concentration here, and the way he is mimicking my own work on his truck really fascinated me. He’s a smart one, this kid. It’s with huge pride that we call him our own!
