It was such a grey day today with heavy low cloud. Feeling uninspired and bored with all my usual walks I worked all morning and then took Monty and myself up to Ely for a change of scene. I parked in a slightly odd location (but hey - car parks in Ely are FREE - they say, 'tell your friends' - so I am). I had my 100mm lens on which was useless for cathedral photos as it's absolutely massive (the cathedral not the lens) and needed a wider angle so I decided to photograph a few ducks by the river which I could have done in Cambridge and they obligingly took off. Not the best focus ever but it was this or a stuffed bird in a shop window and somehow that felt like cheating (although it was such a good example of taxidermy that I could have told you all it was alive). I'm miles behind with commenting but will do my best to catch up later.
@jennywren All day if you arrive after 8.30 - 90 minutes if you're parked during 8-8.30am. One of them has a 4h limit in the part that's close to the cathedral.
Ah so it was stuffed...would never have guessed! Free car parks are the salvation of small towns. Garstang has free too thanks to Booths!
Wonderful power of these ducks as they fly over!
You must have a trigger finger...well captured. I think the coloured feathers of these ducks are amazing and you have caught them beautifully. Two for the price of one.
