Getting down at St John's

I had the offer for a photo walk with my friend Louise today. We both forced ourselves to get off auto (or near enough auto) and set some settings. This spot by the cloisters at St John's is a good place for experimenting with exposure. Of course you can't tell what the original exposure was like because I've messed about with it far too much but I think we've both learned quite a bit - mostly I learned that I want her 70D! Can't say I really mastered the settings but I'm blaming a dull day.
great POV and light

This makes me smile :-) Student thinks....what is that woman doing down there! it makes for an unusual view and we get to see the vaulted cloister.

Can't say why, but I just like this ...

I like the doorway shape - so gothic and the light behind is good, just showing the architecture!
