Toe the line

I've been watching this chap learning to tightrope walk for years. On occasions I've photographed him but he used to fall off quite quickly. Now he has a really long line slung up between two trees - it starts off about 8 ft or so off the ground but by the time he reaches the middle he's nearly on the ground - that seems to be the most tricky part (other than getting on and off). He got all the way across on this attempt. There was also a man practising juggling with six balls and a load of alcoholic/drug fuelled individuals having a shouting match - quite a circus all in all. And a quite beautiful day - not quite beautiful enough for me to get my top off though...
Fabulous capture

They are called slack liners. I took a bunch of shots of them over the weekend in the nearby park, but none came out as nicely as this. Looks like he is floating.

Now that's something you don't see every day! Myself I think he'd look better with a shirt on! and you keep yours on too...you'll catch a chill! Sounds like there's a lot going on there.

Looks like he hasn't had his top off much lately either! He's doing well with the tight-rope though, good luck to him.

A wonderful photo of him and his activity. I agree it does look like he is walking on air. You need to share a copy of this shot with him. So well captured.

I wonder if it takes years to learn to tightrope walk! It would be good for balancing skills but with me balancing on one leg is bad enough! The park sounds more like open theatre!

Great entertainment, uh?! And all for free!! My feet hurt just watching this guy. Great catch.

I didn't notice the tightrope unti I read your writing......I think it's a fantastic sight to see in a park. Our parks are very boring...no tightrope walking there! Quite a fete to do it in bare feet.....ha ha!
I rather like his green trousers too but is that a hole in them.....I have been buying green paint sample pots today.......this green is a bit too yellowy though. I saw someone with bare arms today too......not yet for me!

@happypat where is the green for? I've just painted the three pink samples on the bathroom wall for sammys promised pink bathroom after having an enforced green bedroom ( well he will have when the bathroom is finished) I do miss big city parks of my childhood with lots going on. I am the strange entertainment normally in our village park, today I was sat in an imaginary car talking to imaginary doctors on a plastic yellow phone..... He does look like he is floating.

@newbank For our bedroom Ruth....it's green now & I like the colour with the pine woodwork but hasn't been painted for a good few years. I wanted a subtle mossy green ....I would be brave & go darker but Harry doesn't like too dark& we have small windows.

Love this! Very cool capture. Sounds like the park was the place to be for some free entertainment today.

@happypat Sammy's green bedroom is a soft green. We discovered an unused big tin recently so it will now be used. And to clarify, Sammy doesn't have a bathroom of his own! We're generally going bit lighter in our second round of redecorating we decorated when we moved in 8 plus years and finally getting time to do some that needs doing again. Hope you find one you like.

'Oh what a circus" judith... I almost feel like singing....Salve regina mater misericordiae
Vita dulcedo et spes nostra
Salve salve regina
Ad te clamamus exules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus gementes et flentes
O clemens o pi

I think these are commonly referred to as slacklines- a lot of rock climbers will practice on them for balance. It is really hard! Nice capture:)

@dolphin judging by his reaction when he finished it's hard work - mostly in the arms. Made a better photo with a shirt on - but he kept falling off!
