We've been to Birmingham again today so apologies for not commenting - will try to catch up tomorrow. Harborne has some lovely cafes and pubs including this one in a Victorian schoolhouse. It's a sort of 'young professional' area as it's near the enormous Birmingham hospitals and was packed downstairs with some tiny babies having mid morning snacks (not the delicious chocolate brownie I was having!) I went up the stone stairs and had a bit of a flashback to my primary school days - windows and roof etc - we didn't get comfort, or indeed indoor loos.
Thats right - the toilets were in a cold stone building open to the air and across the playground! Having a good cafe is good for property sales around - all the young mum's have somewhere to go and spend their loot!
@mrsbluesky Oh my word - I don't think they offered that - must ask specially next time. Interestingly I didn't eat much yesterday as we were dashing hither and thither and I seem to have gained weight!
Harborne has changed since the summer I worked there for my dad, the best I got then was a boots dinner or McDonalds! Is coming up for 20 years ago though....
