Pond life

Adam pointed out that the pond was full of almost invisible frogs so I nipped inside for my camera. You have to sneak up or they all disappear underneath together. Some good garden jobs done today - my greenhouse is full now so some of the little plants I've grown from seed will have to be planted outside soon - it will avoid the worry of frying them when the sun eventually comes out anyway.
We walked Monty around Cambourne, got lost and had a great opportunity to take a goldfinch on a fence and a reed bunting in his breeding colours - but I didn't take my camera because I'd already taken a frog...
I love that kind of pond!!! And the frogs are so hard to find! And easy to scare! Fav

Good focus and not easy to capture either. Love the way the frog is just peeping above the weed.

Fabulous greens. We had loads of frog spawn but never see frogs, we assume the fish eats it.

@newbank No idea whether we have tadpoles - can't see the water! Last year they all disappeared - maybe dragonfly larvae - they are devils.

Great image Judith. It's funny because I've taken a similar shot few days ago, my frog was French ;) but she had the same golden eyes than yours;)

Love that head peeping out........this must be your pond then........I haven't a pond so you score on that front.....I think I might like a pond rather than a linen room!! That will sound an odd thing to say for anyone not in the know! I would love to see frogspawn & frogs!

He's very cute. I wonder if he would turn into a prince if you kissed him.

I love to hear the croak of frogs in the night from a pond! Tried for ages to create ponds for frogs but the birds got them - kingfishers love them! They seem to be very wary - the slightest movement they see and pop! So good shot!
