I think ivy flowers are like fireworks. Feeling guilty about Monty missing such a lovely walk on Sunday, I took him over to Lode. I was enjoying listening to Judy Dench on Desert Island Discs via podcast as we walked and was a bit confused about why Monty kept stopping. At the woods I let him off-lead, he loves haring around jumping over logs etc, but when I turned round he had disappeared. In the distance over the top of Judy Dench I could hear ululations which I knew meant that Monty was lost so I set off back down the path to find him. When he saw me he set off again and before long the howling started again. By this point I had taken my earphones out and, quel horreur, there was the distant boom of a bird scarer... I was beginning to think I was going to have to chase Monty all the back to the car but he diverted in to the wood, retracing his steps and I was able to get level with him and grab him. Another nice walk crossed off the list! I blame Judy...
Just shows how misleading these earphones are & so easy to get stuck listening & forget about the immediate surroundings. Poor Monty but I can imagine how interesting Judy was. I only realised the new series had started afterwards but must try & listen on catch up. You were so lucky to catch hold of him! Yes I can see exactly the firework look!
