Posting this for Friday which I spent retrieving Adam from University. He's had a full on dose of flu which started with headache, vomiting, earache, sore throat, sore joints, the works & has barely been vertical for three days. The sat nav having failed us last time I directed myself to the Geffrye Museum (which I'd like to go to sometime) and them wrote out strict instructions for getting myself to his halls - worked a treat even with the road closure. So a plus point out of an otherwise very frustrating few days - he's supposed to be doing Freshers' parties not Fresherrs' flu! Here Monty is requesting assistance with a thorn in his foot - he doesn't even try to sort it out himself, just lifts his foot & looks at us.
Bless him! Get well soon. I've left the house for first time today since Wednesday after being horizontal for many days. Thank goodness for mums that collect little boys from uni and hubby's who can work from home and help with childcare.
@newbank Oh no! Flu as well? I've asked a doctor friend and flu hasn't kicked off in Cambridge yet but, as I'm always saying, London is mucky!! Praying that he's kept it to himself even though it would kickstart the diet.
@judithg Not sure its quite flu.....littlest has had very nasty viral infection...which after may nights and days attached together in the way small people are with their mummies when poorly I succumbed too. 9 days in now and still feeling less than rosy. Broke the hot water bottle out yesterday to ease the painful joints.
@judithg perhaps not too little still for a dose of calpol, the yearly bottle of multivitamins which get used for a few days and a chocolate freddo bar? Standard treatment in our house....
Nurse to man & beast Judith! Poor Adam, he's supposed to be having fun partying, there again not sure that's all it's cracked up to be! Such a relief he isn't up in Aberdeen or some such place!! Proper flu is the most horrendous thing & I feel very sorry for the lad! Lovely photo of this poor boy with thorn in foot! Perhaps Monty thinks the 'lad' is getting too much attention in your house!!
poor adam, hope he is better soon judith :(
As for Monty, how could anyone refuse him help with such a fabulous face . Ruby does a similar "raise my paw thing" too :) FAVED
Monty is a very smart dog, and has figured out how to put his humans to good use!! Beautiful, too!! So sorry about Adam being so sick....that sounds horrible, and I bet he got it from someone else in his class or dorm, and has already spread it around! The joys of close quarters....so good that you were close enough to be able to tend to him...
