I took my macro lens out to take snowdrops at Churchill College and I took Nigel to hold Monty while I got down on my knees to take the photos but the light wasn't great and they are a bit grainy. AND I split a hole in the knee of me jeans.... However I was rescued by the trusty Victorian postbox at the end of the Astronomy Dept drive. At least the Victorians considered aesthetics when they designed street furniture - the end of our road has acquired some really ugly square boxes containing goodness knows what wires. And it's getting an oversized Aparthotel - turned down by local planners but they were overruled by the man from the ministry which seems to be happening a lot and is a worrying trend - so much for devolved powers. Anyway - in good news we have a new baby in the family.
Welcome little baby, always good news! Nothing beats a proper red post box. Could do with a bit of a make over....I saw one painted bright pink the other day, apparently pink is the undercoat.
i love it judith. fab reds and flakes of paint.
However, as a former "xmas postie" and with a former postie at camera club too, I am often told these are pillar boxes !!!
Does this count as a 'letterbox shot' :) :)
