Best of a bad lot focus wise. It was a bit of a mad day. Monty was still poorly in the morning and I was syringing electrolyte solution in to his mouth at regular intervals. Eventually he licked a tiny bit of beaten egg off my finger but refused any more so I decided to go really bland and cooked some macaroni and thank goodness he decided he would eat a bit. Since he then perked up a bit I arranged to go out with my instagramming friend Louise for a photo shoot. She loves geometric things so we went to the science park to take a few photos. We weren't surprised to find ourselves accosted by a security guard who was actually very nice and said we could snap away while he escorted us off the premises (apparently the rationale is that it's private land and we might sue them if we fall over). He was mightily amused by our 'criminality' especially when his colleague called up and asked if he needed back up - he requested they send the SAS which Louise and I were delighted about - and went on to recommend some good locations in London. Photos of buildings will follow. We then decided to try the business park where we were soon met by a stereotype security guard who said we were trespassing on crown territory (I'm pretty sure it actually belongs to St John's College) and made us delete our photos in front of him. Obviously you can just get the photos back out of the deleted folder but they were mostly just boring buildings anyway. He kept saying we could get photos off the internet and Louise tried to explain that those aren't our photos and then got the giggles when I said, 'It's art isn't it?' and he looked totally non-plussed.
So I got home to some hen-fox drama (sadly we are now a hen down thanks to wind damaging our fencing) and the fox ended up trapped in our garden for about an hour which livened Monty up no end. Ended the day with a trip to 'Spotlight' - an understated but powerful film that kept giving me goosebumps (it's about the Boston Globe expose of the cover up of abuse in the catholic church - but the same applies to quite a few other organisations that put reputation ahead of protecting children).
Fabulous fox shot! And so good to read that Monty is starting to show some improvement! I'm sorry you were looked upon so suspiciously when on your photo shoots. I find myself more and more feeling 'guilty' of some kind of covert behavior when I have a camera. :(
@peggysirk I suspect that half the time they are on dodgy ground. I'm pretty sure that we weren't strictly speaking trespassing - plenty of 'private' land has public access and when they have roads running through them and not a 'private' sign to be seen I think they'd have trouble making that claim stick - otherwise the postmen should refuse to deliver and the bin men refuse to collect!
It's a great shot considering how he's tearing round your garden. We're hoping so see Spotlight when it comes to St. Neots. We were a bit disappointed with Dad's Army last night.
Well I dint think anyone could top that day Judith! I wish I had known you could get back deleted photos after I had to delete my ill gotten photos inside Buckingham Palace!
I think all these security guards love the power they have although sounds like one was good fun!
We are going to see Spotlight tomorrow @busylady . Our usual cinema is not showing it so we are going into Blackpool. Didn't just fancy Dads Army too much so good to hear we have made the right decision. I have read good reports of Spotlight as a We are both Catholics we can cringe together! Ha ha!
You have had a rather eventful day... glad you got to 'shoot' the fox with your camera, and I hope he won't be back for another helping. Hope Monty feels better, too.
Quite a story. Surprised the security came upon you so heavy handed. Quite ridiculous. how amazing to see all that fox action - I think you have caught it pretty well. Looks up to mischief for sure. (I saw Spotlight at the week end too - I took it as a stark reminder to speak up when needed and not be intimidated just because no one else does).
Hope you have had a quieter day today!
It sounds like you have had an eventful day, so glad Monty is getting better. Sad to hear about your hen being taken. we are at Helens looking after wills , and dogs and hens.

A security guard cannot make you delete images for taking pictures in a public place, Way too over zealous .
Great shot though..I think the focus is pretty good!
