Shipwreck

There are many, many shipwrecks in the vicinity of the Manitou Islands. We kayaked over two simply by chance. This one was right up on shore, as you can see. Next year it could be buried in sand or underwater. It is illegal to touch the shipwrecks, but one may view from a boat or snorkle around them, if one is brave enough. Frankly, they give me the heebie-jeebies, especially when encountered unexpectedly. We've found them in one, ten and twenty feet of water. Seeing a large, dark, hulking shape in the crystal clear water under your kayak is more than a bit unnerving!
Fascinating.

@vstap Thank you, Vee! It was! My husband likes to linger and look the whole thing over if it's underwater while I paddle frantically to get away. Ha ha! :)
