One of the best things about Autumn is the Feijoa Season.. These little bundles of goodness fruit on the Acca Sellowiana Tree which is in the Mytle Family and is native to South American Countries, but being Sub Tropical do very well in the Northern parts of the North Island of New Zealand. They are often grown as a hedge and can be picked up by the hundred's but to buy them can be very expensive.. They are great eaten fresh, or made into cakes, muffins, loaves or as I did last night combined with apple to make a delicious crumble..
ohhh how I loved them!! We used to make Feijoa-Milkshakes with them every morning while I was in New Plymouth ... Why don't we have them in Germany?! Great shot and nice composition btw. :)
@ricaa I have just googled and we do export to Asia and some to Great Britain @happypat and they sell for $81 per Kilo... so you had best get some Pat..
I have to admit to trying them and not liking them. But they do make a wonderful photo. Perhaps I should have had them in a crumble instead of eating them straight?
You will have to stay longer next time.
