More Onion Pickers...

Another shot from yesterday's onion paddock... You can't blame these guys sitting down on the job and I guess a bag of onions make as good a seat as any.. The guy in the blue hoody is pulling out the red onions and clipping off the tops .. they are then bagged and then taken back to the packing shed..

Wow. This is a great shot Julia. I love how we can see the detail of exactly what the workers are doing in the foreground, but at the same time we can see the bigger picture. There are a lot of sacks of onions! I've never seen onions being gathered.

Look at all of the sacks full of onions, as far as you can see. What a great photo of this important business. I cook with onions a lot, I'm going to have to find an onion field at harvest time to see our harvesting techniques. Great photo!

I didn't realise they got so many onions off one plot. It really does look hard work though. I'm surprised they haven't found an easier way.

@888rachel There is an easier way but I think these one's are being hand picked for a special market... usually done with huge machines..
