Came across this 'bloke' the other day when we were on the side of the road taking a shot of a Highland Cattle with very large horns .. and this guy was his 'paddock mate'.. He is a Captain Cooker which was an introduced breed by Captain James Cook who was an explorer that mapped and discovered our country 1769.. He released these pigs he bought out from the UK and they then became the main wild pig breed.. This guy has been domesticated ...
Interesting to read your account of this breed of pig, didn't know any of that stuff. We have a big problem with feral pigs here too, mainly escapees from farms and their offspring.
@golftragic Yes the early pioneers have a lot to answer for with alot of our pest being introduced... sorry that includes your possums... but also our weeds like gorse that was bought over from the UK for hedging and it did 'so' well it became a weed.. and of course rabbits...
