Sign Reading Cattle... by julzmaioro

Sign Reading Cattle...

Today I had to go through some of my file photo's as I have had a request for a framed print.. so it is good to look at some images of a few months ago..
This shot was taken when we were in the South Island on a camera course.. This is Dansey Pass which is a metal road that winds it way through a mountain range I was ammused by the sign giving warning for the 'cattle' to stop..
I do actually know that is infact warning drivers that there is a 'grating' in the road to stop cattle from proceeding down the road.. this is instead of gates across the road..
You have really clever cattle in New Zealand, I am impressed.

We have a duck crossing sign close to where I live and in case some of the ducks can't read there is an outline of ducks on the sign too.

Love the way the road curves - and the pop of yellow looks great!

I love the big explanation mark.

Haha, your cows are so clever. I remember a sign in NZ 'Heavy Plant Crossing', but I never did see a heavy plant.

Nothing like the NZ windy country roads. Great sign

I like the colours contrast and leading line.

We use cattle guards (grates) in America too. Beautiful scene here. I do love the sign!

Yep, lots of cattle grids in Scotland too. They make such a noise when you rattle over them in a car! Super capture - and a great sky! I like that person in the blue jacket too - gives it perspective.

They are called Cattle Guards here in Arizona. Fun to see my sister-in-law's reaction to the noise made as you drive over one. I do like that your cattle in NZ are much better educated. :):)

Impressive landscape.

Lovely scenery, that curve in the road is in just the right spot. Not too sure about what the sign means though. Are cattle to stop there, or humans to stop for cattle?

@golftragic No it is a grid/ grill in the road that cattle would not/could not cross over it is instead of having a gate across the road... It must make tourists wonder...

The area I live in is riddled with cattle grids (as we call them) even though they mainly control the sheep.
