Ponga and The Mudlarks

Had a lovely morning with @dide walking the Estuary looking for photo's for our coming Camera Club. I love the form of our native tree fern's the Ponga and just as I took this shot the local volunteers The Mudlarks went past in their barge. The Mudlarks work tirelessly in clearing the waterways of Mangroves to get them back to how they use to be years ago.
Good to get out and about while it wasn't raining. Great timing to get these guys as they cruised back from the wharf after unloading their bundles of mangroves.

Well done the Mudlarks….they do an excellent job. They don’t seem to do any maintenance of rivers here like they used to do. No dredging! …..I could get on my high horse about that! They they wonder why there is flooding! Love how you can see all the frond detail.

@happypat Yes it is a bit controversial and there is a little objections to what the Mudlarks do but they have kept going.. I am going on a Estuary cruise today so will get a different pov.
