Spent a lovely afternoon with my Son and 3 Grandies... it is so lovely to see the kids getting excited about the simple things in life.. The kids had a lot of fun under, around and on top of the Archway...
A very evenly made archway Julz......I presume it's a natural arch too? Is that slope liable to slip...it looks a bit precarious! I can tell that is darker sand from the west coast! Great place to play for the kids! Makes a great photo!
@happypat Yes Pat the cliff changes every time you are out there even though it was pretty calm yesterday the sand on the cliff face was still blowing.. and the arch is 'sand stone' so high seas and strong winds could take it out one day... but something 'new' will be made.. this sand is not as black as the usual beach of Kariaotahi that we usually go to and probably about 12 k;s up the coast..
Wow, what a fantastic archway. I hope erosion doesn't do away with it in the near future.
David saw a photo in an encyclopaedia of the rock formation London Bridge on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia when he was 3 years old and always wanted to see it. Unfortunately not long after we finally arrived in Oz it fell down.
