I collect egg cups when I travel. They are small to carry home, and don't occupy much space at home either. I eat a soft boiled egg most mornings, and the collection is useful as well as memorable. As shown on the previous day's photo, I acquired this one in Istanbul. I placed it within the Japanese tea cabinet where I have all of my egg cups, and photographed it from many different angles, moving around the Ott lighting, changing the arrangement, etc. Some of the angles showed many more egg cups, but at more of an angle. Taking photos looking down from the top showed the back of the egg cup as well, giving it a three-dimensional image. In my Apple lesson, we cropped this one a lot, and removed a bit of the light reflecting on the surface. The egg cup from Turkey seems at home among my egg cups from Portugal, Netherlands, Germany and Denmark.
Thanks for your generous comments! I have many, many egg cups so on a rainy day I may end up photographing more! Each one feels so personal and is full of travel memories . . .
