Almost touchdown, after 16 days away with @vankrey and 19 of his high school students who are studying Japanese, and were selected through a rigorous process. I see this image quite often, but rarely have my camera in my lap when landing so I copied Michael in putting my camera up to the window -- he snapped his characteristically artistic shot rather than my literal (do you see the baseball diamond in the foreground of mine?): http://365project.org/vankrey/365/2013-07-03
Can't change date/time in my broken camera so it thinks I'm still in Japan time.
Ah to be home and **finally** caught up with 365! I like how the image splits in half with sparkly lights and blackness. So funny how we are nearly simultaneously posting such similar photos. Maybe it's not so surprising...
@vankrey -- You are so much more efficient! I still have the school photos I'm selecting and editing and getting ready to post, and, of course, preparing yoga-legs tripod collage.
@alia_801@lynnb@dolphin -- thanks for your comments! Yes, Chicago is "home" -- I've lived here longer than anywhere else in my life. But since I started 365, I haven't been here much. I took an ultra-early retirement package from work last year so in this first year, I am living wherever I get offers to do speaking, consulting, research, etc. I won't travel as much next year!
A good capture of the scale of the city and the blackness of the sky. And I do see the diamond in the photo! So glad you are back, even if just for a bit!
@jyokota Thanks - all is clear now. I plan to take early retirement after the next academic year but as I've done so much travelling for research up until recently, I'm looking forward to being at home more.
