On my way to the library, I saw a man in the big field of dried sunflowers in front of the castle. After explaining that I needed to practice portraiture for my Get-Pushed Challenge by David @dtigani this week, he laughed at the idea that I found an image of him cutting sunflowers to be interesting enough to photograph. Initially, I wanted to capture the image of the man in a large field that I originally saw, but instead, I ended up with various closer up images of him cutting dried sunflowers to save for the birds in wintertime. He suggested that I photograph the book castle in the background. Does this count as "portrait"?
I think it's a portrait where you've captured him in a natural setting. And I love the expression on his face! It's wonderful that he was such a good sport about your photographing him. I always feel so shy about asking a stranger to take his or her picture. Good one!
I think this is called an 'environment portrait', where the subject is shown in his/her natural environment. I think it's an excellent portrait, and I do like the building in the background too.
