Ponte de Sai Van Bridge by jyokota

Ponte de Sai Van Bridge

Connects Macau Peninsula to Taipa Island. Photographed from the balcony of faculty housing at the University of Macau with coaching from a science faculty member who made recommendations about the technicalities of how-to-photograph-nightlights-without-a-tripod (and not drop your camera down 16 floors from the ledge).
Is this rendition of the skyline any better than the previous one, @steampowered ? Enlarged, you can see the lines of the bridge. I tried for the twinkle lights but it was not possible.

They are both great photos, just different. I like them both.

Good to see you online again! I think the shots are, as Richard said, serving different purposes. Had you been going for the bridge, you'd have used a tripod, long exposure, narrow aperture, etc. With the bridge you lose the Macau skyline. But either shot holds its own as a strong image of the scene. I'm impressed!

A really nice composition, I love the strong vertical of the tower and the horizontals of the bridges.

This is beautiful. Hope you managed not to drop the camera down 16 floors

Beautiful night scene, Junko. I have a soft spot for night cityscapes :)
