Falling Fountain by jyokota

Falling Fountain

Several stories high, dramatic water fountain in the center of a building.

Note to self: Take such shots with lots of space around it because when you straighten it to compensate for crooked photography due to one blind eye and seeing the world off-centered, you lose a LOT by trimming.

Straightened, cropped severely, b&w processing using RGB sliders, upped the definition, upped contrast, upped black point, increased highlights, decreased shadows, balanced levels, and and and . . . for ETSOOI-58.
Very cool!

I think it's great! Love how it fills the frame.

Lovely! Nicely taken. I hear you about losing photo when straightening it. :/

Stunning picture. Great shot, and I agree with the problem with correcting photos.

Oh yeah been there done that - and if you post it crooked they will let you know that quicker than anything else. I have become very aware of that. LOL Neat capture.

Chin up Junko, I had to learn the same lesson the hard way - and finished up with some very strange crops too. Nevertheless, I think the long narrow look works well with this lovely shot, it's a vertical post-box shape and I like it.

@darylo @taffy @seanna @agedrunner @golftragic @rosiekind @joansmor @golftragic -- thank you all for your words of encouragement! I decided to submit for ETSOOI-58 so I added a description of the process on how I ended up with this funny, skinny image.
