Muenster Cages

Oh, the things that are done in the name of religion . . . something about church, rebellion, religious and political rule, imprisonment, torture, execution -- and three people whose tortured bodies were hung in cages on the steeple of the St. Lambert's Church. Their bones were eventually removed, but the cages still remain. I processed this photo as an HDR so you could see the cages more prominently but I hate what it does to the sky. Suggestions?
crazy wow!? the steeple looks like a torture device - like some sort of mace. That's tricky with a dull sky - I see the "aura" prominently on the left (with a bot on the right) and wonder what would happen with a set of 5 bracketed photos (did you use 3?) with a more dark end might tamp it down. I honestly don't know, though...

I was very much hoping you would take picture of those. Blood-chilling are these! I remember first seeing them, I could not believe the history behind them. Glad you got to see the city and the area. And - I will let you know about the middle of April right after we are back home - have to sort out the deadlines and see what on my calendar(s) what will be going on on that day. I hope it will work out!

@vankrey -- I did use three; will take 5 another time and try your theory out. Thanks for thinking about this!
@365projectltaylor -- I smiled at the idea of waiting for a better sky because by then, I'd likely be in another country!
@agedrunner - thanks for your comment
@pamknowler -- seriously, right?

@vera365 -- let's stay in touch and hope this next one works out! I'll be staying in Frankfurt until the 19th and I could also take a train during my time there and meet you somewhere mutually interesting as well.

The aura and sky don't bother me one iota, they merely concentrate attention on the main subject which is impressively grim. Wonderful detail in this spire. Far too often religion has a lot to answer for. Live and let live I say.
