Otherwise known as tomato baskets to support growing tomato plants and their fruit -- well, 18 tomato plants with my lack of gardening skills only yielded about 20 tomatoes total (and most were cherry tomatoes) so the baskets ended up serving as bird stands. Yes, 18 of them just for birds to wonder why they were all there. The goldfinches especially like them. And the black tape you see in the background covers the evil sharp poles that used to scrape my legs and make them bleed as I went over the fence to get into the garden (some of those evil poles were taller and stuck out more). Thanks to @markp for that suggestion!
My first year trying that went so well, I foolishly though - oh, this will be a breeze. Next year was more like yours and haven't tried since. But it was fun the first year!
